Jessica Hogan
PhD Student, University of St. Andrews
I am a first year PhD student studying social acceptance of wind energy in Newfoundland, Canada, and Scotland, UK. I am particularly interested in community benefit models popular in Scotland such as community ownership and how that may influence social acceptance.
In 2018, I completed my M.Sc. which looked at the impacts of ATV use on sand dunes from both a social and natural science perspective in New Brunswick, Canada. With hard work and good circumstance, I was able to participate in an exchange in Scotland at the University of Aberdeen in Dr. Steve Redpath’s group. I decided to stay in Scotland afterward and continue my studies looking at human interactions.
